COMMUNITY CENTER FRONT DESK SUPERVISOR
The Community Center Front Desk Supervisor serves as the on-site front-line leader of daily operations at the York Community Center. This position oversees front desk staff during assigned shifts, ensures smooth facility operations, delivers exceptional customer service, and supports memberships, programs, and facility access. The Supervisor maintains a safe, welcoming, and professional environment in alignment with York Parks & Recreation standards.
LIFEGUARD (Community Center)
Qualifications: Applicants must be lifeguard certified at time of hire. Applicant also must be able to pass a series of skills upon interviewing. Must be 15+.
Job Duties: Properly scan the water ensuring safety to all swimmers, enforce all pool rules, and be able respond to emergency situations properly.
YOUTH PROGRAM SUPERVISOR
Qualifications: Youth Program Supervisors need to be caring, helpful and provide excellent supervision of children of all ages while maintaining a positive attitude. Must be 15+.
Job Duties: Supervise YPR’s youth programs & Fun City. Responsibilities could also include: leading youth programs, creating games, crafts and snacks, interacting with the children as they play games.
Youth Sports Referees
Part-Time & Contracted | Reports To: Parks and Recreation Director and Coordinator
York Parks & Recreation is seeking knowledgeable, confident, and fair **Referees** to officiate youth and adult sports leagues. Referees ensure games are played safely, on time, and with great sportsmanship while representing YPR with professionalism and integrity.
What You’ll Do
- Officiate youth and adult sports leagues (basketball, volleyball, softball, etc.).
- Enforce game rules fairly and maintain control of play.
- Promote safety and sportsmanship among players and teams.
- Report incidents, ejections, and injuries to supervisors.
- Communicate effectively with participants, staff, and spectators.
- Assist with game setup or teardown as assigned.

- Fair, confident, and calm under pressure.
- Knowledgeable about sports and officiating rules.
- Strong communicator with good judgment.
- Professional, reliable, and safety-conscious.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old (18+ preferred for adult leagues).
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Officiating or sports experience preferred.
- Evening and weekend availability required.
